Abstract This chapter is a review of the multiphase particle-in-cell (MP-PIC) numerical method for predicting dense gas-solids flow. The MP-PIC method is a hybrid method such as IBM method described in the previous chapter, where the gas-phase is treated as a continuum in the Eulerian reference frame and the solids are modeled in the Lagrangian reference frame by tracking computational particles. Aim & Scope. Experimental and Computational Multiphase Flow (ECMF) is a peer-reviewed international academic journal that publishes original high-quality research papers and significant review articles on the transport phenomena of mass, momentum and heat in multiphase flows from theoretical, experimental and computational perspectives. The journal publishes scholarly .

Theory and Modeling of Dispersed Multiphase Turbulent Reacting Flows gives a systematic account of the fundamentals of multiphase flows, turbulent flows and combustion theory.
It presents the latest advances of models and theories in the field of dispersed multiphase turbulent reacting flow, covering basic equations of multiphase turbulent reacting flows, modeling of turbulent flows. This book entitled ''Multiphase reacting flows: modelling and simulation'' contains the lecture notes of the CISM (International Centre for Mechanical Sciences) course held in Udine, Italy, on July, and it describes various modelling approaches for dealing with polydisperse multiphase reacting flows.

An understanding of turbulence, combustion, and multiphase reacting flows is essential for engineers and scientists in many industries, including power genera-tion, jet and rocket propulsion, pollution control, fire prevention and safety, and material processing. The papers in this book describe the most widely applicable modeling approaches and are organized in six groups covering from fundamentals to relevant applications.
In the first part, some fundamentals of multiphase turbulent reacting flows are covered. In particular the introduction focuses on basic notions of turbulence theory in single-phase. Theory and Modeling of Dispersed Multiphase Turbulent Reacting Flows gives a systematic account of the fundamentals of multiphase flows, turbulent flows and combustion theory.
and numerical methods for simulation of multiphase turbulent reacting flows, etc. The book is ideal for graduated students, researchers and engineers in many. The book "Reacting Flows in Porous Media" is book for both the numeric modeler and the coal scientist. Let me first say I am neither a reservoir modeler nor a mathematician.
I have been a researcher in coal science for the last 30 years. And one of the things I've seen is a progression towards more and more quantitative ways of assessing the Cited by: 1.

The plug flow has narrow residence time distributions and it is benefit for the reaction time control (Song and Ismagilov, ). Similar flow patterns in gas/liquid systems are named slug flow and bubbly flow (Xu et al, a, b).
Although both plug flow and droplet flow contain dispersed liquids, the flow fields in them are very different.Yang and Mao’s book focuses on modeling and numerical applications directly in the chemical, petrochemical, and hydrometallurgical industries, rather than theories of multiphase flow.
